Organic fertilizers boost rice soil nutrients, increase grain yield significantly.
A study was conducted to see how different fertilizers affect the nutrients in rice soil. They used a type of rice called Egyptian hybrid rice one (EHR1) and tested different combinations of NPK fertilizer and organic materials like compost and farm yard manure. They found that using the full recommended dose of NPK fertilizer along with compost or manure produced the highest grain yield. The levels of available nutrients in the soil increased with higher NPK fertilizer levels and the use of organic materials. The highest amounts of ammonium, nitrate, potassium, and zinc were found at different stages of the rice growth cycle.
