Women in Zimbabwe's Communal Areas Struggle to Access Land Rights
Women in peri-urban areas of Zimbabwe face challenges in accessing and holding land property rights. A study in Domboshava revealed that women struggle due to land transactions, patriarchy, and the customary land tenure system. The research involved interviewing 32 women and analyzing the situation using a theory by Anthony Giddens. Authorities need to recognize new ways for women to access land rights and create more opportunities for them in the land market.
