Rapid land use change in Ethiopia leading to severe land degradation.
Land use in Mida Woremo watershed in Ethiopia has changed a lot from 1972 to 2017. More land is now used for farming and living, leading to less forest and bush areas. This change is mainly because people need more space for agriculture and homes, which has harmed the soil and plants in the area. To protect the land and environment, better ways of using and managing the land are needed that consider both nature and people's needs.
