Revolutionizing the U.S. government securities market with centralized clearance services
The Government Securities Clearing Corporation (GSCC) was created in 1986 to improve the efficiency and reduce risks in the U.S. government securities market. It introduced an automated system for comparing and netting trades, making the market more secure. Over time, GSCC expanded its services to include Treasury auction awards, repurchases, reverse repurchases, and brokered repos. The launch of the General Collateral Finance Repo service (GCF Repo®) further enhanced the market's functioning.
