The article presents a logical approach to understanding fiscal sustainability. It defines sustainability by setting conditions that a system must meet to be considered sustainable. The role of autopoietic capacity in sustainable systems is discussed. The paper then focuses on customizing these conditions for fiscal sustainability by identifying specific processes related to finances. A logical formalization of the concept of fiscal sustainability is proposed.
