Crossbred goats outperform purebreds in growth, impacted by sex and season.
The study looked at how different factors affect the growth of goat kids from different breeds. They measured things like weight, length, and chest size of the kids from birth to 11 weeks old. They found that crossbred kids (BBSA) grew better than purebred kids (BB and SABB). Male kids grew better than female kids, and kids from smaller litters grew the best. Kids born in the rainy season grew less than those born in hot or cool seasons. So, if you want to raise goats in a tropical climate, crossbred BBSA kids are the way to go.
