Plant species diversity in Dodangeh Forests, Iran changes with altitude, slope, and aspect. Altitude has the biggest impact on plant communities. Moderate altitudes have the highest species diversity and evenness. South-facing slopes are more diverse due to more sunlight and warmth. Overall, plant communities in the area follow Gleason's continuum view.
