Revolutionary Tillage Systems Boost Soil Health and Reduce Water Loss
Improved tillage systems with row cleaners were studied to see how they affect soil properties under wheat cultivation. Different types of row cleaners, speeds, and depths were tested. Results showed that soil temperature was influenced by the amount of crop residue left behind. Hard pan did not limit crop root growth. Soil water content increased under no-till systems with row cleaners compared to conventional tillage. Soil erosion and water loss were also reduced significantly with the use of row cleaners.
