New Gravity Energy Storage System Offers Cost-Competitive Renewable Energy Solution
The article discusses the economic analysis of gravity energy storage (GES) as a potential option for storing energy from renewable sources. GES was compared to other storage technologies like pumped hydro and compressed air storage. The study found that GES and gravity energy storage with wire hoisting system (GESH) have competitive costs compared to other storage systems. GESH was particularly cost-competitive with pumped hydro and compressed air storage. Both GES and GESH offer economic advantages for providing energy storage services.
