Pharmaceutical companies' stock returns impacted by key financial variables in Indonesia.
The study analyzed how different financial factors like economic value added, operating cash flow, residual income, earnings per share, and operating leverage affect stock returns for pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia from 2012 to 2016. The researchers used data from 10 companies and found that economic value added and operating cash flow had no significant impact on stock returns. Earnings per share and operating leverage had a positive but insignificant effect, while residual income had a negative and significant impact on stock returns. Overall, all these factors together had a significant influence on stock returns for the pharmaceutical industry during the specified period.
