Dynamic shading system boosts view, comfort, and energy efficiency in buildings.
The article presents a method to design adaptive facades that improve occupants' comfort and save energy. By using dynamic vertical shading systems on south facades, the research found that these systems can provide more outside view, better visual comfort, and save operational energy. The study showed that dynamic shading with multiple slats can offer four times more view, improve view quality by allowing occupants to see the sky all year, and save twice as much energy while letting in more natural light without glare. This research helps in creating high-performance adaptive solar facades.
