Optimal pollen pairings boost kiwifruit quality and marketability significantly
The researchers studied how different types of pollen affect the size and quality of kiwifruit in three female cultivars. They found that the combination of Bruno and Matua cultivars produced the largest and sweetest fruits, while Hayward and Matua had the biggest diameter. Monty and Tomori resulted in the lowest acidity. This shows that choosing the right male and female cultivars can improve the quality and marketability of kiwifruit.
