Turning Trash into Treasure: Moroccan Waste Fuels Cement Kilns, Reducing Pollution
The goal of the research was to find a better way to manage household waste in Morocco by using it as fuel in cement kilns. The researchers found that the combustible parts of household waste have a lot of energy and can be a sustainable energy source. By using 15% of this waste as fuel instead of pet coke, the cement plant can reduce pollution from gaseous emissions and save money.
