Chickpea Pre-Cropping Boosts Rapeseed Yield and Protein Content Significantly
Farmers are interested in growing rapeseed because it can be profitable. Researchers studied how rapeseed growth and yield are affected by nitrogen fertilizer and planting corn or chickpea before rapeseed. They found that chickpea planting led to higher rapeseed yield and protein content compared to planting corn. Nitrogen fertilizer also affected rapeseed properties. Overall, pre-cropping with chickpea and using nitrogen fertilizer can improve rapeseed growth and yield.
