Soybean farmers boost yields by adjusting planting times
The researchers studied how different planting times affect the growth and yield of soybean plants in Ukraine. They found that the timing of planting has a big impact on the height of the plants, number of beans per plant, and weight of seeds. Some soybean varieties do better when planted later in the season. For example, Diadema Podillya variety gives the highest yield when planted later, while KiVin, Knyazhna, Khutoryanochka, and Triada varieties do best when planted in the second half of May. Overall, planting time, along with weather conditions, plays a crucial role in determining the productivity and yield of soybeans with different growing periods.
