New Study Reveals Surprising Factors Driving Demand for Counterfeit Products
Counterfeit products are becoming more common, especially in Malaysia. Factors like social influence, price, and past experience influence people's intention to buy counterfeit goods. A study in Kota Tinggi, Johor found that attitude towards economic benefit is the most significant factor affecting counterfeit purchase intention. The research surveyed 140 people with low to medium incomes, and only 2.9% had no experience buying counterfeit products. Overall, the findings show that people's attitudes towards the economic benefits of counterfeit products strongly influence their intention to purchase them.
