Bio-organic fertilizer boosts tobacco yield and quality, reducing harmful chemicals.
The study looked at using a bio-organic fertilizer called Kunyijian to replace some chemical fertilizer in growing tobacco. They found that using 70% local fertilizer with 1,200 kg/ha of Kunyijian led to the best tobacco yield and quality. This combination increased sugar content and decreased nicotine and total nitrogen in the tobacco leaves. It also raised the chlorine content in the leaves. The researchers suggest that replacing 30% of chemical fertilizer with Kunyijian at a rate of 900-1,500 kg/ha is a good idea for tobacco production.
