Unpaid domestic work in India puts women at disastrous disadvantage.
Time use surveys were used to see how men and women in India spend their time differently in rural and urban areas. Men spend more time on work, while women spend more time on unpaid household chores. There isn't much difference between regions in how time is spent. Women's work at home is often overlooked and not valued, which puts them at a disadvantage. There is also inequality in the time spent on work between men and women.
