Building energy efficiency design in China is being improved using Building Information Modeling (BIM). By combining BIM with energy simulation software, researchers studied how different building envelope designs affect cooling and heating loads. They also analyzed data exchange between BIM software and completed an energy-efficient design for a HVAC system. The optimized design method proposed can save costs, improve economic benefits, and achieve ideal building efficiency design while meeting Chinese standards and policies.
