Rural India Faces Drinking Water Crisis: Sustainability in Jeopardy
Access to clean drinking water in rural India is a major issue. The government is responsible for providing this essential resource. Groundwater is mainly used for drinking and irrigation, but overuse has harmed the environment. Ranga Reddy District has two main water bodies, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, supplying water to Hyderabad. While urban areas have good access to drinking water, rural areas face significant challenges. The study focuses on identifying available water resources and promoting sustainable water management.
