Optimal growing conditions maintain quality of barley ingredients in plant factory
The study analyzed barley ingredients grown under different conditions in a plant factory. They compared barley grown under optimal conditions for high productivity with barley grown under other conditions. The results showed that the quality of barley under optimal conditions was acceptable, with only minor differences in ingredient content compared to other conditions. Moisture, crude-fat, and some minerals were similar across all groups, while crude-protein, crude-fiber, and certain minerals varied. Overall, the study suggests that the optimal conditions for maximizing productivity also maintain the quality of barley, but adjustments may be needed for specific functional aspects of the forage.
