COVID-19 Hits Greek Youth Unemployment Harder Than Overall Rate
The article examines how COVID-19 impacted unemployment in Greece, focusing on overall, female, and youth (under 25) unemployment rates. A Vector Autoregression (VAR) model was used to analyze the data and predict future impacts. The study found that the pandemic had a significant effect on unemployment rates in Greece, particularly among females and young people. The Impulse Response function was used to forecast these impacts and compare them with other European countries. The VAR model's forecasting ability was also compared with ARIMA and ANN models.
