Altitude impacts herb diversity: Middle elevations host most species richness.
Altitude affects the diversity and richness of herbaceous plants in Kabirkouh forests. Researchers divided the area into three altitude ranges and found that species diversity and richness decreased with higher altitudes. The middle altitude range had the highest diversity and richness. Altitude did not impact the evenness of herbaceous species. The distribution of species importance value followed a lognormal curve in all altitude ranges.
