Air-conditioned rooms need to be cooler for female students' thermal comfort.
The study looked at factors affecting the thermal comfort of female students in an air-conditioned lab. They considered air temperature, humidity, mean radiant temperature, air velocity, activity level, and clothing insulation. The students felt most comfortable at temperatures between 22°C and 24°C, with a relative humidity of 52% to 58%. Air velocity ranged from 0.05 m/s to 0.22 m/s. The study suggests that regular assessments of thermal comfort are important due to changing environmental conditions.
