Heavy metal contamination in vegetables from Meru Farm poses health risk.
The study analyzed heavy metal levels in vegetables, soil, and irrigation water at Meru Vegetable Farm. They found that some vegetables and water exceeded safe limits for metals like lead and iron. Green Spinach soil was within limits, but Water Spinach and Sweet Leaf Bush soil had excessive cadmium and lead. All three types of vegetables had high levels of various metals, making them unsafe for consumption. The contamination in the soil poses a risk to the vegetables grown there.
