Livestock LCA must consider multiple environmental factors to avoid misleading business and policy decisions.
The article examines how the environmental impacts of livestock industries are evaluated using a method called Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Many previous studies have simplified this assessment, which can lead to inaccurate results. This study reviewed recent research on livestock-related LCA to understand how different environmental factors are considered. The goal was to assess the applicability of a more comprehensive LCA approach in the Korean livestock industry. The findings suggest that using a more complex evaluation method that considers multiple environmental factors is crucial for more accurate and reliable results in assessing the environmental impact of livestock farming.
