Spatial data management breakthrough revolutionizes urban planning and disaster response.
The study focused on designing and optimizing spatial databases for managing geographic data in Tibet using Oracle and ArcSDE technology. The researchers examined different types of essential spatial data like maps and graphics and created a plan for processing this information in the database. They then carefully designed the database structure by selecting suitable models for storing the data in both ArcSDE and Oracle systems. Lastly, they configured and fine-tuned the Oracle database settings and indexes to ensure optimal performance for storing and retrieving spatial information efficiently. The process outlined in the study aimed to establish a solid foundation for managing geographic data effectively in commercial databases like Oracle with the help of specialized tools like ArcSDE.
