New study reveals groundwater potential in Iraq, paving way for sustainable management.
Understanding the groundwater in Teeb area, South of Iraq is crucial for managing this important resource. By conducting pumping tests on seven wells, researchers estimated hydraulic properties like conductivity and storage capacity. Results showed good agreement with data from the General Commission of Groundwater, with a high level of certainty. Using GIS techniques, they found that conductivity varied across the study area, with higher values in certain regions. This study helps us better predict and manage groundwater in the area.
