Organic farming key to restoring soil fertility in Himalayan foothills.
The study looked at soil quality in the Pir Panjal Himalayas by testing different factors like pH, EC, OC, N, P, and K. Soil samples were collected from 10 sites and analyzed at a Soil Testing Laboratory. The results showed that there was a lack of nitrogen and potassium in all samples, while other factors varied. Sites using organic farming had better soil quality. Using organic fertilizers can help maintain soil fertility in the region. Not using a variety of fertilizers may be causing soil issues in the area.
