Revolutionizing Wheat Farming: Integrated Nutrient Management Boosts Yields and Profits
The study looked at different ways to manage nutrients for growing wheat and how it affects the yield and economics. They tested 14 methods and found that using 75% recommended nitrogen with poultry manure, zinc sulfate, and sulfur gave the best results for yield. This method also gave the highest profit. Overall, this approach led to more spikes, longer spikes, more grains per spike, and higher grain and straw yields compared to other methods tested. The harvest index was not affected by the nutrient management. The most cost-effective method was using 100% recommended nitrogen, which resulted in the highest net profit and benefit-cost ratio.
