Drought-resistant maize varieties identified, boosting crop yield in challenging conditions.
The study looked at how different types of corn handle drought at different growth stages. They tested 18 types of corn with and without drought stress at three important stages of growth. Some types of corn were able to handle drought better than others. Two types, Jingke968 and Jingnongke728, had the highest yield and were the most resistant to drought. On the other hand, Liaodan565 and Jiyuan1 did not handle drought well and had low yields. Overall, Jingke968 and Jingnongke728 were the best at dealing with drought, while Zhongdan28 was the worst.
