Minimum tillage boosts crop yield and energy efficiency while reducing weed invasion.
The study compared traditional ploughing with minimum tillage methods on soil properties, weed control, yield, and energy efficiency for maize, soybean, and winter wheat. Weed growth was highest with disc harrow and rotary harrow tillage, followed by chisel and paraplow, and lowest with conventional ploughing. The results showed that different tillage methods affect soil properties, plant density, and weed control, ultimately impacting crop yield.
