Early sowing and higher nitrogen levels boost wheat yields in Jammu.
The study looked at how different planting times and nitrogen levels affect wheat varieties in Jammu. They tested three wheat varieties and three planting times, along with three nitrogen levels. The results showed that planting wheat early in October led to higher yields compared to planting later in November or December. The variety WH 1105 had the highest yield among the three tested varieties. Using a higher nitrogen level than recommended also increased wheat yield. Overall, planting wheat early and using the variety WH 1105 with higher nitrogen levels resulted in better yields and profits.
