Islamic Banks' Profit-Driven Approach Raises Concerns About Financial Stability
Islamic banking has evolved to mimic conventional banks, causing concerns about its authenticity and stability. This study looks at the history of Islamic banking and suggests that replicating conventional banking may lead to instability due to Shariah constraints. It also examines the cooperative banking model in Europe, which has proven to be stable and beneficial for communities during financial crises. Lessons from cooperative banking could help reform Islamic banking for better financial stability and communal welfare.
