Random number generation is important for things like cryptography and gambling. Software-generated random numbers aren't always truly random, so scientists are working on quantum generators that produce better random sequences. In this study, two quantum generators were tested and compared to a software-based generator. A new miniaturized quantum generator was developed, producing random numbers quickly and passing quality tests. The researchers also discussed a secure quantum random number generator concept.
