New white onion genotypes promise higher yields for farmers in India!
The researchers evaluated 28 different types of white onions to see which ones grew the best and produced the most bulbs. They measured things like plant height, leaf length, number of leaves, and bulb weight. They found that two types of onions, GJWO-3 and ON-14-09, were the best at producing a lot of bulbs during the Rabi season. These types had the highest bulb yield and average bulb weight compared to the other types tested. Overall, GJWO-3 and ON-14-09 were the top performers in terms of bulb yield production.
