Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a big role in Malaysia's economy. To help them succeed, it's important to understand how well they know about finances and accounting. A study was done with 344 SME owners in Klang Valley. They were asked about record keeping, budgeting, using accounting info, and financial literacy. The results will help policymakers, researchers, and SME owners in Muslim countries. The study shows that financial literacy is crucial for SMEs to sustain their businesses.
