Entrepreneurship in Vietnam has thrived despite limited economic and political freedoms. The study shows that even small increases in economic freedom can boost entrepreneurial activities, regardless of political constraints. Changes in economic freedom over time have a greater impact on opportunities for entrepreneurs than the absolute levels of freedom. Cultural and institutional changes have played a significant role in fostering entrepreneurship in Vietnam.
