The study aimed to find a connection between BOD5 and COD in sewage at Al-Diwaniyah wastewater treatment plant. The plant had issues with high BOD5 and COD levels in the treated sewage, indicating poor performance. Equations were suggested to assess the sewage treatment efficiency quickly and improve plant performance. The average Biodegradability index for the plant was 0.69. Equations were found to link the removal of BOD5 and COD with their initial levels, showing a strong correlation.
