Iowa farmland values rise 1.7% in 2020, signaling economic recovery.
The 2020 Iowa State University Land Value Survey reported a 1.7% increase in average Iowa farmland values to $7,559 per acre. This rise is due to federal payments, interest rate cuts, export surges, and limited land supply. Despite the increase, values are still 13% lower than the 2013 peak. Most land quality categories saw increases, except for high-quality land. The survey reflects stable farmland market trends seen in other studies.
