Optimizing Tomato Growth: Higher Yields, Better Quality with Nitrogen and Spacing.
A study was conducted to see how different levels of nitrogen and plant spacing affect the growth and quality of tomatoes. They tested 12 combinations of nitrogen levels and plant spacing in a field in Madhya Pradesh. The results showed that using 150 kg/ha of nitrogen and spacing plants 60cm apart led to taller plants, more branches, more flowers, earlier fruiting, higher chlorophyll content, bigger and heavier fruits, and higher fruit yield compared to other nitrogen levels and plant spacings. This combination also resulted in higher total soluble solids in the fruits.
