The goal of the study was to estimate how much water pistachio orchards need using a special computer program. The researchers used satellite images to figure out how much water the plants were using. They found that it's hard to estimate water needs in orchards because the plants are spread out and not all the same. The study was done in pistachio orchards in Zarandieh city.
