Groundnut cultivation in Gorakhpur district of Eastern UP was studied by analyzing data from 100 farmers in 5 villages. The average cost of cultivating groundnut per hectare was Rs. 20,516.28, with a gross income of Rs. 35,620.00 and a net income of Rs. 15,103.72. The input-output ratio was 1:1.73, indicating efficiency. Marginal farms showed higher costs and returns, suggesting potential for increased investment in groundnut cultivation.
