Himalayan Precipitation Patterns Unveiled: Impacts on Floods and Droughts.
The study looked at how rainfall changes with elevation in the Central Himalayas of Nepal from 1980 to 2016. They used data from different regions and seasons to see how much rain falls in each area. They found that the amount of rain varies a lot across Nepal, with the most rain in the Arun valley and the least in Manang and Mustang. Rainfall patterns change depending on the time of year, with differences between the eastern and western parts of the country. In general, rain increases with elevation up to 2500 meters, then decreases. Winter and post-monsoon rain amounts are similar across different elevations.
