Growing cabbage on plastic mulch with drip irrigation increases soil temperature, leading to earlier head initiation and maturation. Mulched plots had a higher percentage of mature cabbage heads compared to non-mulched plots. Mulching also resulted in higher marketable yield, with the highest yield observed in plots with mulch and drip irrigation.
