Revolutionizing Vegetable Production: Saving Water with Regulated Deficit Irrigation
Saving water in vegetable production by using regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) can help reduce water usage. In a study, different RDI levels were tested on maize, lettuce, and garland chrysanthemum. The results showed that using RDI-30 led to higher water use efficiency (WUE) in maize and lettuce, but not in garland chrysanthemum. WUE can be a useful indicator of plant yields and biomass, especially in maize. This approach can help manage water resources better for vegetable plants and conserve water.
