The goal of the thesis was to find a way to clean up excess inventory in a company by focusing on the items that take up the most space. By analyzing data in Excel, the researchers identified 49 key items to work on. They used a specific inventory control model to reduce costs while maintaining a good service level. As a result, the company managed to cut inventory costs by 83.1% while still providing a service level of 98.7%.
