Discover the Rich Diversity of Freshwater Fish in Eastern Bangkok
The researchers studied freshwater fish in Eastern Bangkok, Thailand's agricultural areas from January to December 2020. They caught fish every 4 months at eight stations using different nets. They found 29 fish species, with the most common being Trichogaster microlepis, Trichopodus trichopterus, Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus, and Oreochromis niloticus. These fish can survive in poor environments. The fish diversity index ranged from 1.323 to 2.423, evenness index from 0.489 to 0.895, and species richness index from 1.135 to 3.919. The fish community was divided into 3 clusters based on similarity, with percentages ranging from 55.42% to 100%.
