School Administrators Recognize Need for STEAM Education, Call for Action
The article analyzes how elementary and middle school administrators perceive STEAM education. The study surveyed 122 administrators and found that while they recognize the importance of STEAM education, they believe its implementation in schools is lacking. Administrators identified a lack of understanding among school members as a major barrier to effective STEAM education. They also noted that teachers have a low understanding of STEAM education and struggle to apply it in the classroom. Administrators see creative experiential activities as the best way to implement STEAM education and expect it to enhance students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. They also emphasize the need for STEAM training for administrators to improve their understanding of how to integrate STEAM education into school operations.
