Polluted Lake Threatens Drinking Water, Fisheries, and Irrigation in Turkey
The researchers studied Lake Aygır in Turkey to check if its water was safe for drinking, fisheries, and irrigation. They gathered water samples from the lake and an irrigation pool over a year and tested them monthly. By using different methods, they found some substances like HCO3, NH4, Cu, Mo, Br, fecal coliform, and TSS were too high, while 29 others were within the acceptable limits. The lake's water quality was affected by nearby homes and farming. The researchers suggest regular monitoring and actions to keep the water clean for its different uses. Overall, Lake Aygır is mostly okay for drinking, fishing, and irrigation, but keeping an eye on it is important to stop the levels from getting too high.
